Friends Are We My Sister and Me

I'm a little late on this as her 28th birthday was over a week ago but I just wanted to let my sister know how much I love her and wish she lived closer to our family! When Melanie and I were growing up we were great friends and played well together until the Junior High years and I became the annoying little sister that wanted to do everything she did! We had MANY battles over who was wearing whose clothes, make up, and shoes! I always looked up to her because even though she was a little stubborn she always set goals and reached every one. She has always been the "achiever" and is very smart! Melanie moved out of the house at 17 and went to UofA and worked hard for her nursing degree which has been a life saver for income and a blessing to me because I call her a few times a week with some sort of medical/baby question (especially when I was pregnant with Ashlyn). I am so grateful that we have become such great friends - It's nice knowing I can call her if I've had a bad day or to tell her something exciting! She has so many wonderful talents and is such a big support to me even from another state! I love to hear how her kids are doing and all the milestones they reach. It's so fun to watch her with her own family and she is such a wonderful mother to her 3 boys... she works SO hard and still has time to give to her family and even fits in time for me when I call! I really look forward to the 10 days she comes to Arizona every year and I can't wait to see her in about 5 weeks! Thanks for being such a wonderful example to me Mel, you are a wonderful sister and I'm so glad you're my best friend, love ya

Wow - thanks for the post! I'm so happy that we are a lot closer than we used to be. No longer the annoying little sister, but a treasured friend!!! I miss you so much and I am so excited to see you guys soon. I enjoy so much talking to you almost every day and wish we lived closer. You are a wonderful mom too - Ashlyn is a lucky little girl! Love you - Mel

P.S. I love our hair in the first picture - I wonder what happened to the bowl that was used to help cut my hair. I remember that day _ I think it was my first day of kindergarten. Oh the memories!!!
