Ostrich Festival 2011

I took the kids to the Ostrich Festival along with my parents and our niece Maeley, it was pretty hot and not much shade so our hats and sunscreen came in handy! The kids LOVED it

Long Horn in the petting zoo - Weston tried to feed it but he wasn't that hungry

The kids enjoyed a pony ride

Miss Stella was good (as always) and hung out in her seat most of the time, people watching!

To end the day they got their faces painted - the only other place Weston sits this still is at the dentist! He was So proud of his Shark and extra sad when we had to wash it off in the bath!

Thanks for the company and help mom & dad! Next year we'll go in the evening so it's not so hot and maybe less busy...

The Bright Side

My older two kids are really great friends and I love seeing them interact with each other and pretending or playing tag! They remind me to relax and always look on the bright side of life. They act as siblings do, compete with one another, fight, argue, take toys and tease BUT in the same minute they are tender, sweet, playful and loving! I feel like that's just how life is, things don't always go the way you want but if you can find something about your day that was positive or good then it was successful, I don't want to sound lame or cheesy - But some people might find me boring or feel like I act like my life is perfect! I do have to admit I feel very blessed/lucky to be married to Blake and I feel like we make a great team but that doesn't mean life is all daisies and roses, no ones is! I like to keep things simple, and I like to focus on the positive things! I commend those that are good at sharing their feelings good/bad on their blog, I'm just not good at that and mostly I'm just not great with words! I remember my mom saying that she stopped writing in her journal when all of us kids were little because she found herself only writing hard/bad stuff about her day and she didn't want to remember all the hard days! Sometimes I feel like that - we all have great days, lazy days, bad days, emotional days, sick days, and lonely days! When I have those days that I just really want to talk to an adult(I usually call my mom or my sister) or I know how the day will go because of what time the kids woke me up, I have to remind myself that I am doing the most important job on the planet! Like my mom I want to remember the best days and learn from the hard days... I appreciate my kids so much and even more Blake because he has always been my equal - he doesn't think that just because he has worked all day that he gets to come home and do nothing(he realizes that I've worked all day too) - he is SO involved and has made being a mother an easier job for me...
