ASU vs. UofU Gymnastics

This past Friday we went to the Gymnastics competition between ASU and University of Utah... It was actually fun, besides we like to watch it on tv so it's just as fun in person! We went with my parents, grandma and aunt and brought Ashlyn as well. She was all over the place but didn't mind being passed around to everyone. Ashlyn was walking by our feet in the aisle and brushed the back of this lady in front of us, she turned and looked at Ashlyn with a scowl and said NO NO... I was SO annoyed! On the bright side, we were cheering for Utah (my brother Greg plays football for that school) and they kicked ASU's behind. Although ASU is really good! All in all it was a fun night and nice to do something different than the norm. January has totally slipped past me and it's hard to believe it's February this week. Make it a good one!

Like Mother Like Daughter...

Ashlyn is wanting to only take 1 nap a day and I'm having a hard time accepting that, and during one of her supposed 2nd naps I gave myself a pedicure (of course it wasn't as nice as if I had someone do it for me) anyway she wouldn't settle down for a nap and I wasn't going to stop my pedicure in the middle so she joined me in the living room and sat so still on the coffee table watching my every move, I decided it would be fun to paint her toenails if she would hold still enough and she did just that. She LOVES them and for the hour afterwards kept bending down saying TOE and pointing! Of course she wouldn't hold still for the picture! The only thing that has been constant this weekend are my migraines and I'd say I'm over it but they keep coming back! Dang it!

Not much

So I've had a few lazy days this week and it's been nice. Ashlyn was tired of being at home so much so we spent the day out and about yesterday shopping and visiting with family! I haven't felt like making dinner either, but my mom introduced me to this blog that has awesome recipes on it www.recipequeens.blogspot.com so I'll be checking in there to get some inspiration for new meal ideas. Last night my mom made the Tex Mex Baked Ravioli and it was divine. That also could have been because I didn't have to prepare it or cook it but nonetheless it was tasty. I've been longing to get my hair cut/colored so I shall make an appointment today for sometime next week I suppose. My darling Ashlyn continues to learn so much and jabbers like we are in deep conversation. It makes me wonder what she'll be like when she's 3-4 years old, probably like her mama (always has something to say)! She loves to dance, take baths, explore every corner of the house and touch everything in sight! She has recently rediscovered the drawer in the coffee table as well as the fake moss at the bottom of my silk tree in the entry way. This weekend my brother Robb graduates from Medical School and we'll be celebrating Saturday and Sunday with my family. Until next time

The NEW Year

Well I decided to throw pictures into a collage for your viewing pleasure so it wasn't a TON of pictures in a row, so we'll see how it turns out! So far this new year we have pretty much done very little! Sounds super exciting huh, but we have had a lot of fun seeing changes in Ashlyn as she takes on the "independent" role - she likes to feed herself but will gladly take a bite of
anything on our plates! She is very good at keeping herself entertained, although with molars coming in she has been extra whiny and needy. She has become really good at playing with her cousins, especially Charlotte who is 2 and Maeley who is 2 1/2. She has started mimicking most everything anyone does who is near her and is starting to blow kisses with her hands! Recently Blake was changing our air filter and while stepping away from the ladder only for a second he returned to find Ashlyn climbing it at the speed of light... We also took a quick photo of my brother Greg with the nieces and nephew who live in AZ before he returned to Utah for school and football for the Utes! Another FAVORITE of Ashlyn's are HATS, any kind and size! she loves Blake's baseball hat and also a beanie hat from Uncle Robb & Dalena for Christmas - she will wear them for hours while playing with all her toys. Sometimes just one or the other and also both! She is so funny, I wish I could record every minute... One other fun thing is my new cell phone, I am now with AT&T and I have to say my phone is all kinds of fun - it slides in two directions and I have a full keyboard for all those text messages I don't send (j/k)! I love toys

Growing Up

We had a family party for my nieces 2nd birthday and Ashlyn has found a few new fun toys she enjoys! She found my nephews drum set and went to town making all kinds of noise and LOVED every minute of it! Later we were all playing outside and she quickly learned to "drive" the John Deere Truck and thought she was SO big... We had a wonderful 2007 and hope that 2008 will be just as great!! Next on the list are a few family birthdays and my brother Robb's graduation from Medical School - yay we'll have a Naturopathic Dr. in the family! We love staying busy and being with our families! HAPPY NEW YEAR
