I know it's still a month and a half away, but I'm trying to get some ideas for Ashlyn's first birthday party! It's in December but I don't really want it to have anything to do with Christmas - she needs her own party. I will for sure give her an individual cake to eat herself but I'm not sure what kind of theme or if I even want a theme! I really just want it to be fun and I know she won't remember it but she will see pictures one day and besides it took 2.5 years to get pregnant with her and we want to celebrate Her! So any ideas are welcome, I plan to do a combined family party with my family and Blake's family. Thanks for any input you may have...

You can always do a ball theme like I did with Makenzie's first birthday. The idea worked out pretty cheap for me and turned out fun for everyone. Let me know if you want details to that theme and Makenzie's birthday party. I can email that to you. --Tiffany Bird
Hi! My name is Natalie, and I don't think that I have ever met you, but I stumbled across your blog and thought I'd say "hi!" Hope you don't mind me leaving you a comment! I went to HS with your hubby - we had a few classes together, and I grew up in the same ward as Jenson. (Blake's friend)
You have to know what a cute family you have! Your little girl is adorable!!
I also have a 1st Birthday Party to plan - my littlest, Anni, is turning one in a few weeks. Did you decide on a theme yet? Let me know if you come up with an amazing birthday theme! I have been a slacker with planning this go round - I finally got the invitations out today. Your friend's ball theme sounds interesting... do you know what she did at the party / details?
Just so you know who I am, feel free to check out our blog: ilovemyfamily5.blogspot.com.

I just came across you blog and wondered if you came up with any ideas yet for your daughter's first birthday. I have 2 girls and am all about making each b'day special. I get a lot fo ideas from www.birthdaypartyideas.com and can tell you inexpensive ways to decorate especially if you don't do a theme. (ex. cover juice boxes in the color of her party decor with cardstock and put either stickers with her picture on them (or attach wallet size photos) or just regular stickers. Another great idea is attach die cuts onto balloons to spell out her name (have a diufferent letter on each balloon). If you have a Cricut machine or know someone who does that would work perfect. If you odn't wan tto do a characyer theme what about a color theme or her inital for a theme. If you need any other ideas let me know. Feel free to e-mail me. First birthdays are extra special!
Take Care,
Jennifer
