So it's 6 weeks until Blake's actual 30th B-day, however I wasn't about to try and pull off a party with a 2 week old - Blake's friend Jensen turned 30 last week so his wife Karin and I decided a few months ago to throw them a surprise party together... It was basically family and a few joint friends which ended up being about 60 people (this didn't include kids, if we invited nieces & nephews we would have had 65 more people) Anyway, it's been fun planning it but stressful at the same time! Our families helped us pull it off and contributed to the food which was SO wonderful! Thanks to everyone for coming and helping make it such a fun event :-) We ate dinner, of course cake & ice cream, listened to a wonderful singing performance (about 5 songs) and listened to family & friends tell stories about Blake & Jensen (they've been friends since Jr. High)! I loved every minute
Ashlyn watched me make the lollipops a few days ago and really wanted one so we saved some and she loved them, we are obviously going to celebrate Blake's "real" birthday in July but it's nice having the stress of a surprise party behind me and a new baby to look forward too.
*PS- I slept like a baby last night, it was wonderful!
