< It's NOT Over>

First thing this morning while making breakfast Ashlyn coughed and then spit/threw up clear mucus... I wondered if it was really puke (because she was just fine yesterday). She kept asking for OTMIL (oatmeal) and so that's what she had for breakfast! She played normal and would want to be by me a little more than normal but nothing way out of the ordinary. She drank 2 of the 4 ounces of her bottle before nap (which usually lasts 2 hours) and she woke up an hour later screaming - I went in and got her and just held her while I was looking at clothes online - then she coughed again and puke went ALL over ME, shirt, pants, feet.... Of course it was milk and oatmeal. I put her on the wood floor thinking she was done and she puked 3 more times. By that time I was gagging, I called Blake at work because I was overwhelmed and feeling sick myself. I put her in the bath and tried to clean up our clothes and the floor and the office chair - Blake gave Ashlyn a bath and I showered when everything else was taken care of. She acted like nothing happened afterwards and you would never know she had puked. I don't get it! I don't really know what to feed her, I gave her toast for lunch with some apple juice and she seemed to like it. I didn't give her a bottle before her 2nd nap and so far it's been an hour and a half. When do I classify her as having the flu - She puked Monday, NOT Tuesday and now Wednesday - what does that mean. She doesn't have a fever.... Any ideas??
Tonight I'm going out for dessert with some girlfriends from my Prescott days (they all live here now) so I'm looking forward to a small break and yummy ice cream.

We were just battling (and are still battling slightly) the whole stomach bug. Logan woke up on Monday with throw-up in his crib, and continued a few more times that day. Eventually he had a low fever and some diarrhea too (poor guy). Then Tuesday was a lot better, then today the diarrhea is back and he has less appetite. We called the dr on Mon, and they keep recommending the BRAT diet and definitely no dairy. We are working on that for now...Good luck to you! It's not fun having sick little ones!

Sounds like she had a little bug but it may not have lasted very long. Lucky you. Is she still on formula?? I would hold off on the dairy products and stick with juice much better to clean up when it comes up. :) Hope she done with the bug. Good luck!!

Hey Andrea...my little nephew Brody has been fighting that flu bug for over a week. He would throw up a LOT one day and be fine the next and so on and so forth. It doesn't sound like fun. As far as what to feed her...I know that it is a great idea to give her LOTS of fluids and if she is hungry, try and stick with the BRAT diet (bananas, rice, applesauce and toast).
I will be thinking of you guys. I know that sometimes it is way harder on the mama's than the babies! I hope it clears up quick! Lots of healing hugs sent your way!

You poor thing! Being sick and pregnant is the WORST combo. It's horrible when your baby is throwing up on you too. Glad Blake could come help out! I didn't do dairy with Brooklyn for 3 days when she was sick. And just a side note on the BRAT diet...make sure it's white bread, not whole wheat or multigrain (this is harder to digest). Hopefully she's going to be feeling better soon. We had it here for about 5 days. Good luck!

It is totally normal for a kid to do this. I wouldn't worry unless she is showing signs of dehydration or she is still throwing up after a week's time. Clear liquids are your priority. A kid can go for days on just liquid, so don't worry about "nutrition". Just keep her hydrated.
